Cody Rhodes to undergo surgery this week
Cody Rhodes pushed through the pain and worked the main event of Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell event against Seth Rollins with a torn pectoral muscle.
Although many fans didn’t think Rhodes should’ve been able to wrestle, he insisted on it as the pec was already completely torn and no further damage would be done to the injury by wrestling. Rhodes and Rollins were praised by those backstage at the event.
Fightful Select reported this morning that Rhodes is slated to undergo surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle this Thursday.
Rhodes did tell the fans in attendance at Hell in a Cell that he was going to address the injury on Monday Night Raw, but WWE hasn’t officially announced anything for Raw.
The recovery time from this injury is usually several months, but everyone is different. To compare, some other notable wrestlers that have suffered this time of injury include Triple H (five months), Elias (five months), and John Cena (less than four months).
