Current WWE star was backstage at AEW Dynamite

Warner Bros. Discovery executives and AJ Mendez (AJ Lee) weren’t the only special guests backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite.

Fightful Select reports WWE’s Dolph Ziggler was there to visit friends and his brother, Ryan Nemeth.

The report added that CJ Perry (formerly known as Lana in WWE) and Renee Paquette were backstage as well to visit friends and be with their husbands Miro and Jon Moxley respectively. Miro made his return to action on the show after nearly eight months away.

Ryan worked in FCW and then later in NXT during his three-year stint with WWE as he’s a former FCW Tag Team Champion. He did make a few appearances as a backstage interviewer on NXT TV. He made his promotional debut with All Elite Wrestling last year.

Earlier this year, Ziggler was sent to NXT where he was put into a program with Bron Breakker over the NXT Title. He hasn’t been seen on WWE television since the night after WrestleMania 38 in April when he dropped the championship to Breakker, who defends the title against Joe Gacy at this Saturday’s NXT In Your House special.
