REPORT: Sasha Banks released by WWE
Wrestling Inc’s Raj Giri is reporting that Sasha Banks has been released by WWE. Giri has a good track record and he would not report this unless he had solid sources telling him this so this appears to be accurate.
Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE several weeks ago due to creative differences. At this point, there is no word on Naomi’s status with the company but it is believed that her contract is up in a few weeks.
Banks signed with the company in 2012 and became one of the top names in NXT when she won the Women’s Championship. She was moved up to the main roster in 2015 and became a featured act on the main roster. In the last couple of years, she has had her eye on Hollywood.
Her release would mean that she is free to wrestle elsewhere, including All Elite Wrestling.
I’m hearing Sasha Banks has been released. I don’t know if it’s he requested it or if it was on WWE’s end
